About
Jorge Enrique Delgado is a dentist with a master degree in education from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia). He has a PhD in administrative and policy studies in education/comparative and international higher education from the University of Pittsburgh, U.S. Dr. Delgado worked 15 years as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Dental School where he was in charge of teaching cariology, dental public health, research methods and scientific literacy, managing research, professional development of fellow professors, evaluation and assessment and university accreditation, and representing the University to the Colombian Association of Dental Schools Education Division. He was also professor of research methods in the postdoctoral program in Endodontics at the Universidad Santo Tomás – Colombian Dental Federation. Currently, Dr. Delgado teaches Latin American social and public policy at the University of Pittsburgh and is an adjunct professor in the online program in global and international education at Drexel University (Philadelphia). He is also the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Universitas Odontológica from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. He holds leadership positions at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) where he is the secretary of the Higher Education Special Interest Group and at the American Education Research Association (AERA) where he is the secretary of the Communication of Research SIG. Dr. Delgado’s current research focuses on university research and communication of knowledge, particularly scientific/scholarly journals that bring together topics such as university faculty development and higher education and science and technology sector reforms.
