About

I am interested in studying the interacting effects of individual and contextual (or 'environmental') factors on political behavior, attitudes, and values. Using a social psychological approach, my current research explores the impact of political competition and socioeconomic inequality on individual value preferences and core value conflict.

My other areas of interest are federalism, democratization, and subnational politics. On these topics, I am interested in analyzing the causes and consequences of subnational democratization processes in Latin American countries, the United States, and other federal systems around the world.
