Thesis Title: The Legion of the Archangel Michael: Building a Fascist Community in Interwar Romania
About
I am currently writing a cultural history of the Romanian fascist movement known as the Iron Guard, or the Legion of the Archangel Michael. I am particularly interested in the ways that religious belief, cultural style, and interpersonal bonds functioned to create a fascist community in a rapidly changing society. My publications include articles on Russian, Romanian, and Montenegrin intellectual and religious history.
